Romario stars as Windies win series in tense finish: 2nd T20 (Tarouba)

Romario Shepherd was the star as the West Indies snatched victory from the jaws of defeat to upset South Africa by 30 runs and win the three-match series with one match to spare.

Shepherd and Shamar Joseph triggered a middle-order slump by sharing six wickets between them as South Africa collapsed to be bowled out for 149 with two balls to spare.

Earlier, Shai Hope had set the home side on their way to a strong total with his 41 from 22 balls while skipper Rovman Powell’s 35 and Sherfane Rutherford’s 29 boosted the Windies total to 179-6.

West Indies 179 for 6 (Hope 41, Powell 35, Williams 3-36, Kruger 2-29) beat South Africa 149 (Hendricks 44, Stubbs 28, Shepherd 3-15, Joseph 3-31) by 30 runs.
