England seal series win over SL after Atkinson five: 2nd Test, Day 4 (Lords)

Paceman Gus Atkinson took five wickets to put himself on the Lord's honours board for the second time in the match as England sealed a crushing 190-run win over Sri Lanka.

Set a stiff 483 to win and resuming on 2-53 overnight, Sri Lanka's task was massive. They eventually were bowled out for 292 thanks to fifties from Chandimal 58, Karunaratne 55, Dhananjaya 50.

Atkinson (5-62) became only the third England player to score a century and take five wickets in a Test, and first since Lord Botham in 1984.

England 427 (Root 143, Atkinson 118, Asitha 5-102) and 251 (Root 103, Asitha 3-52) beat Sri Lanka 196 (Kamindu 74, Potts 2-19) and 292 (Chandimal 58, Karunaratne 55, Dhananjaya 50, Atkinson 5-62) by 190 runs.
