Bumrah triggers Aussie collapse as India fightback: 1st Test, Day 1 (Perth)

Skipper Jasprit Bumrah put India on top after dismantling Australia on day one in Perth.

Australia ended the day tottering on 67-7 still 83 runs behind India after a record 17 wickets fell in a single day.

Earlier, India’s famed top order collapsed to 73-6 as Starc and Hazlewood bowled with pace and bounce in helpful conditions. Rishabh Pant (37) and debutant Nitish Kumar Reddy (41) counter-attacked to drag India to 150.

India 150: Kumar Reddy 41, Pant 37; Hazlewood 4-29, Marsh 2-12 lead Australia 67-7: Bumrah 4-17, Siraj 2-17 by 83 runs.
