This was India’s first official Test match, marking their entry into international cricket. CK Nayudu captained India – he became a national hero despite the loss. Douglas Jardine led England.
The only Test took place at Lords from June 25–28, 1932. England won by 158 runs. Mohammad Nissar and Amar Singh impressed with pace bowling for the Indians. Harold Larwood bowled with genuine pace and unsettled the Indian batsmen.
