On 25 June 1932, India started its journey in international Cricket as a Test-playing nation, making its debut against England at Lord's. The series is fought over two trophies:

Anthony de Mello Trophy:

This trophy was awarded for the Test series played between India and England when the series is held in India.

Pataudi Trophy:

This trophy was awarded when the Test series between India and England is played in England.

In June 2025, the ECB and BCCI decided to award the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy to the winning team.

India dominated the series. This victory secured the Anthony de Mello Trophy for India and extended their unbeaten streak in Test matches to 18.
