David Johnson was right arm bowler who was able to bowl very quickly touching 157 kmh at times.
Johnson made his Test debut in October, 1996, against Australia at New Delhi under the captaincy of Sachin Tendulkar when Javagal Srinath got injured. His wayward bowling was his downfall as he played 2 Tests and took 3 wickets.
He claimed 125 wickets from 39 first-class games. He stroked a hundred (101 not out) for his highest score at the first-class level.
In retirement, Johnson ran a cricket coaching academy. He died after falling from an apartment block balcony on 20th June 2024.
