Yasir Shah was born on 2 May 1986 in the North West Frontier Province. He is a leg spinner who made his first class debut in 2002. He was picked in the Pakistan squad to Zimbabwe in 2011 and made both his ODI and T20 debuts during that series.
When Saeed Ajmal was banned in 2014, Shah was called up to make his Test debut against Australia in the 1st Test in Dubai.
Shah was the world’s second quickest bowler to reach 50 wickets mark in Test cricket and the fastest to go past 75 wickets.
In Feb 2016, the International Cricket Council (ICC) banned Shah from playing all types of cricket for a tenure of three months for a doping code violation. The spinner maintained he had taken his wife’s medicine mistakenly which led to his positive dope test.
