Scott Boland: Right arm fast medium bowler, MCG favourite

Boland, Scott Michael

Scott Boland was born on 11 April 1989. He is a right arm medium paceman who made his first class debut for Victoria in 2011. He has an indigenous (Aboriginal) background.

He made his One Day International debut for Australia against India on 12 January 2016.

Boland began to shine in Tests during the 2021–22 Ashes. On Boxing Day at the Gabba, he took 6/7 in England’s second innings on debut, earning the Mullagh Medal and prompting the memorable call “build the man a statue!

He continued to impress in the World Test Championship final (2023), and most recently in the 2024–25 Border‑Gavaskar Trophy, where his Sydney performance (6/45 and 10 wickets match haul) helped Australia reclaim the trophy after a decade
