Asitha Fernando is a right-arm fast bowler known for his skiddy pace, disciplined line, and ability to generate movement off the seam.

Born on July 10, 1997, in Katuneriya, he emerged through the youth ranks and played a key role in Sri Lanka’s Under-19 World Cup campaign in 2016.

He made his Test debut in January 2021 against South Africa and has since become a regular feature in Sri Lanka’s red-ball setup. Fernando is particularly effective in helpful conditions, using sharp swing and seam to trouble top-order batters. His standout performances include key spells during Sri Lanka’s overseas victories, especially in Bangladesh and Pakistan.
