India pushed to edge by spirited Oman: 2025 Asia Cup No 12 (Abu Dhabi)

India maintained their unbeaten run in the 2025 Asia Cup with a narrow 21-run victory over Oman in Abu Dhabi.

Batting first, India posted 188 for 8, with Abhishek Sharma blazing 38 off 15 balls at the top and Sanju Samson anchoring the innings to earn the Player of the Match award.

Oman’s reply was spirited, led by veteran Aamir Kaleem, who struck a valiant 64 off 46 and became the oldest player to score a T20I fifty against a full-member nation, supported by Hammad Mirza’s half-century.

Despite their efforts, Oman managed only 167 for 4 in 20 overs, falling short as India secured top spot in Group A and booked their place in the Super Four.

India 188 for 8 (Samson 56, Abhishek 38, Faisal 2-23, Kaleem 2-31, Ramanandi 2-33) beat Oman 167 for 4 (Kaleem 64, Mirza 51) by 21 runs.
