India refuse trophy in controversial end to final with Pakistan (Dubai)

The victorious Indian team refused to accept the trophy and winner’s medals from Asian Cricket Council (ACC) president and Pakistan’s interior minister Mohsin Naqvi.

After defeating Pakistan by five wickets in the final, the Indian players posed for photos but pointedly declined to step forward for the formal presentation, leaving the trophy on the podium untouched.

Reports indicated that the snub was a silent protest against Naqvi’s dual political and cricketing role amid strained India–Pakistan relations.
