Muttiah Muralitharan took four wickets to leave India teetering on 159 for six needing a further 242 to make Sri Lanka bat again. Debutant Ajantha Mendis bowled well in tandem with Murali and had first ever wicket with a beauty when he bowled Rahul Dravid.
