Jacobs delivers series levelling win over Bangladesh: 3rd T20 (Dhaka)

Newcomer Bevon Jacobs struck an unbeaten 62 to guide New Zealand to a six-wicket win over Bangladesh in the 3rd T20, with the series ending 1-1.

Bangladesh collapsed under pressure in the rain-shortened 3rd T20I against New Zealand in Mirpur on 2 May, losing by six wickets via the DLS method. Reduced to 15 overs a side, the hosts struggled for momentum throughout and were bowled out for 102 in 14.2 overs. New Zealand’s bowlers controlled the middle overs superbly, with Ish Sodhi leading the squeeze and continuing his rise as one of the Black Caps’ most effective T20 wicket-takers.

New Zealand’s chase looked uncertain at 33/4 Jacobs produced a stunning counterattack. His unbeaten 62 off 31 balls, alongside steady support from Dean Foxcroft, turned the match decisively as the visitors reached 104/4 with more than three overs to spare. Jacobs’ maiden T20I half-century earned him Player of the Match honours and helped New Zealand level the series.

New Zealand 104 for 4 (Jacobs 62*, Robinson 23, Shoriful 3-19) beat Bangladesh 102 (Hridoy 33, Clarkson 3-9, Sears 2-12) by six wickets (DLS method).
