Gill, Kishan centuries pound Afghanistan, India win series: 2nd ODI (Lucknow)

India clinched the ODI series with a commanding 126-run victory over Afghanistan in the second ODI at Lucknow.

Batting first, the hosts piled up 402 all out in 48.5 overs, powered by brilliant centuries from Ishan Kishan (125 off 78 balls) and captain Shubman Gill (118 off 92 balls). The pair shared a devastating 224-run partnership for the opening wicket, setting the platform for one of India’s highest ODI totals against Afghanistan.

Chasing 403 for victory, Afghanistan showed glimpses of resistance but were unable to keep up with the required rate and were eventually bowled out for 276 in 43.2 overs.

India’s bowlers struck regularly throughout the innings to maintain control, sealing a comprehensive 126-run win and an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

India 402 (Gill 154, Kishan 125, Kharote 4-76, Rashid 3-48) beat Afghanistan 232 (Rahmat 79, Gurbaz 41, Arshdeep 3-45, Gurnoor 3-60) by 170 runs.
