IPL Moved: South Africa favoured ahead of England

South Africa has overtaken England as the preferred venue to host the 2nd IPL tournament after it was deemed to be too risky to play in India due to the clashing elections.

Lalit Modi the IPL chairman was flying to South Africa to finalise the deal.

Weather turned out to be the principal factor that swayed the BCCI as the traditional damp spring turned the tide against England.
