Strauss and Cook record stand puts England on top: 2nd Test, Day 1 (Lords) - Part 2 of 2

England captain Andrew Strauss hit an unbeaten 161 but Australia hit back late in the day to leave the home team at 364-6.

Australia's bowling attack appeared decidedly blunt in the contest with Andrew Strauss and Alastair Cook 95 as they put on a record 196 runs for the first wicket.

England totally dominated the opening session of play with the Australia bowlers unable to make a single breakthrough whilst conceding 126 runs at over 4 an over.
