Career in Profile: Talking Cricket with Aravinda de Silva

Aravinda de Silva discusses his career for Sri Lanka that spanned from 1984 to 2003. From his early days in international cricket when he was dubbed "Mad Max" for throwing his wicket away when set, to his career defining century in the 1996 World Cup Final, Aravinda has always been seen as one of the most skillful batsman of his generation. On the dark side, Aravinda De Silva was cited as a potential match fixer in allegations documented in the ICC report post the Hansie Cronje scandal in the early 2000's - these allegations were never properly examined after the SL Board elected to sweep it under the carpet. These match fixing allegations were raised again by former SL skipper and school mate Hashan Tillekeratne recently. Sept 2011
