Match fixing case: Chris Cairns faces perjury charge

The former New Zealand cricket all-rounder Chris Cairns is to be charged with perjury, the UK Crown Prosecution Service (CPS)has confirmed. The former NZ captain will face one count of perjury linked to a libel action he brought in 2012 against Lalit Modi when he arrived shortly in the UK the CPS said. Current skipper Brendon McCullum is expected to be a key witness to give evidence about alleged match-fixing approaches. Sept 2014
