South Africa in a spin as Jadeja delivers win: 1st Test, Day 3 (Mohali)

Ravindra Jadeja (5-21) cut through the South Africa batting to secure a 108-run victory with more than two days to spare.

Eighteen wickets tumbled on an extraordinary day as South Africa wobbled quickly in their pursuit of a 218-run victory target before being shot out for just 109 as India took a 1-0 lead in the four-match series.

Earlier India had lost 8-39 in a stunning collapse.

India 201 (Vijay 75, Elgar 4-22) and 200 (Pujara 77, Tahir 4-48, Harmer 4-61) beat South Africa 184 and 109 (Jadeja 5-21) by 108 runs.
