Anderson, Broad check South Africa: 2nd Test, Day 1 (Manchester)

The old firm of James Anderson and Stuart Broad helped themselves to three wickets each as the South Africa were rolled for 151.

After winning the toss, South Africa were in early trouble as Anderson, playing his 100th home test match, took early wickets to have the visitors on the back foot.

In reply, England reached 111-3 thanks to some exhilarating batting from Johny Bairstow (38 not out).

England 111 for 3 (Bairstow 38*, Crawley 17*) trail South Africa 151 (Rabada 36, Anderson 3-32, Broad 3-37) by 40 runs
