Kohli powers India to title as Proteas choke: 2024 T20 World Cup Final (Barbados)

Virat Kohli’s thrilling 76 helped India to T20 glory in a tense final as South Africa froze in the final stretch.

Heinrich Klaasen smashed five sixes in a 27-ball 52 and left the Proteas needing just 26 runs off the last four overs. 

Bumrah (2-18) was masterly and with support from Hardik Pandya and Arshdeep Singh, they applied the blow torch to the South Africans who crumbled under the pressure.

Earlier, Virat Kohli dragged his side from 33-3 to 176-7 with 76 off 59.

India 176 for 7 (Kohli 76, Axar 47, Maharaj 2-23, Nortje 2-26) vs South Africa 169 for 8 (Klaasen 52, Bumrah 2-18, Arshdeep 2-20, Hardik 3-20) by seven runs.
