Windies thrash England after Hope century: 1st ODI (Antigua)

Shai Hope struck 109 not out as the West Indies crushed England in a morale-sapping defeat in the start of England’s new One Day International era picked up where the old one had left off for Jos Buttler’s side.

Harry Brook smashed an important 71 but captain Jos Buttler’s lean run of form continued.

Chasing 326, Hope hit three sixes in the penultimate over as the Windies produced their biggest run chase on home soil ever.

West Indies 326 for 6 (Hope 109*, Athanaze 66) beat England 325 (Brook 71) by four wickets.
