Brook and Root punish Pakistan with world record stand: 1st Test, Day 4 (Multan)

Harry Brook became the first England batsman since 1990 to hit a triple-century in Test cricket.

Brook (317) and Joe Root (262) combined for an English record 454-run partnership to rally the visitors to 823-7 declared - the highest score ever made against Pakistan. This stand of 454 broke the previous world record stand for the 4th wicket of 449 between Adam Voges and Marsh.

Pakistan collapsed to 152-6 with Agha Salman (41 not out) and Aamer Jamal (27 not out) providing some fight in the last hour.

Pakistan 556 and 152 for 6 (Salman 41*, Atkinson 2-28) trail England 823 for 7 dec (Brook 317, Root 262, Duckett 84, Crawley 78) by 115 runs.
