The Sydney Cricket Ground is the premier sporting venue in Sydney.
The SCG hosted its first ever Test match in 1882 when Australia took on England. The SCG has been expanded in recent years and now holds 48,000 spectators.
In 1926, Don Bradman batted for the first time on the SCG in a first-class cricket game and also scored the highest first class score of 452 not out at this ground in 1930.
In 1978, Australia and the West Indies played the first official international cricket match staged under lights.
