Player profile:
Julian, Brendon P

Brendon Paul Julian, born on 10 August 1970 in Hamilton, New Zealand, was an all-rounder renowned for his lanky 6’5” frame, left-arm fast-medium bowling, and powerful lower-order batting.

A graduate of the Australian Cricket Academy, he played 7 Tests and 25 ODIs between 1993 and 1999, showing flashes of match-winning ability but struggling for consistency at international level.

His finest moments came in domestic cricket, notably starring in Western Australia’s Sheffield Shield triumphs in 1997–98 and 1998–99 with decisive performances in the finals. A member of Australia’s 1999 World Cup–winning squad, Julian was admired for his awkward bounce and ability to swing the ball.

After retiring in 2001, he forged a successful television career, becoming a leading Fox Sports cricket presenter and commentator.
