Ajith Priyantha Weerakkody was a right-arm fast-medium bowler who represented Sri Lanka briefly in the mid-1990s. Born in Colombo on 1 October 1970, he earned his only international cap in a One Day International against New Zealand at Sharjah in April 1994.
While his international career was limited, Weerakkody was more prominent on the domestic scene, playing 37 first-class matches in which he claimed 132 wickets at an impressive average of under 20.
A useful lower-order batsman, he contributed occasional runs but was primarily known for his pace bowling.
