Manav Suthar is a left-arm orthodox spinner and left-handed batter from Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan, who has emerged as one of India’s brightest young red-ball prospects.
Born on 3 August 2002, he developed through the Rajasthan cricket system and quickly earned a reputation for his accuracy, control and ability to extract turn from even unresponsive surfaces. His dependable lower-order batting has also established him as a genuine bowling all-rounder.
Suthar made his mark in domestic cricket with a string of impressive performances for Rajasthan in the Ranji Trophy and other first-class competitions. His consistent wicket-taking ability and calm temperament under pressure brought him into the India A setup, while strong displays in the Duleep Trophy and other representative matches strengthened his case for higher honours. He was also signed by the Gujarat Titans, further highlighting his growing stature in Indian cricket.
His international breakthrough came in the one-off Test against the Afghanistan national cricket team at New Chandigarh in June 2026. Making his Test debut, Suthar produced a memorable performance, claiming a six-wicket haul in the first innings and playing a leading role as India secured a record innings victory. The display marked him out as one of the country’s most exciting spin-bowling talents and a strong contender for a regular place in India’s Test squad.
