Head pounds India to put Aussies on top: 2nd Test, Day 2 (Adelaide)

Travis Head smashed a run-a-ball century to dominate India as Australia took a stranglehold of the 2nd Test in Adelaide.

Head struck 140 off 141 balls and provided the bulk of Australia's first-innings 337.

Australia's pacemen then tore into the Indian batting line-up under lights, leaving the tourists tottering at 128-5, still 29 runs behind. Only Rishabh Pant (28) and rookie Nitish Kumar Reddy (15) remain of the recognised batsmen.

India 180 and 128 for 5 (Pant 28*, Cummins 2-33, Boland 2-39) trail Australia 337 (Head 140, Labuschagne 64, Bumrah 4-61, Siraj 4-98) by 29 runs. Dec 2024.
