Mehidy five checks Zimbabwe: 1st Test, Day 2 (Sylhet)

27-year old allrounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz picked up five Zimbabwe wickets to lead Bangladesh’s spirited fightback at Sylhet.

Mehidy’s 5-52 restricted Zimbabwe to 273, an 82-run lead over Bangladesh in their first innings.

Bangladesh reached 57-1 from 13 overs, with Mahmudul Hasan Joy (28* off 42) and Mominul Haque (15*) at the crease.

Bangladesh 191 and 57 for 1 (Mahmudul 28*, Mominul 15*, Muzarabani 1-21) trail Zimbabwe 273 (Williams 59, Bennett 57, Mehidy 5-52) by 25 runs.
