Kuldeep strikes restore parity after strong start by South Africa: 2nd Test, Day 1 ...

On Day 1 of the 2nd Test between India and South Africa in Guwahati, South Africa elected to bat first after winning the toss and got off to a steady start, with openers Aiden Markram and Ryan Rickelton putting on a partnership of 80 runs.

South Africa got to 166-2. However, India fought back in the final session, with Kuldeep Yadav claiming three crucial wickets and Mohammed Siraj removing Tony de Zorzi just before stumps.

South Africa ended the day at 247/6 in 81.5 overs, with Senuran Muthusamy unbeaten on 25.

Key dismissals included Markram caught behind off Jasprit Bumrah and Temba Bavuma falling to Ravindra Jadeja, leaving South Africa under pressure despite a respectable total.
