England crush sorry SL after Banton’s maiden ton: 3rd ODI (Oval)

Tom Banton struck his maiden ODI century as England sealed a 2–1 ODI series win over Sri Lanka with a crushing 223-run victory at The Oval today.

A star performance from Banton—who struck a brilliant century (126 off 105)—anchored England’s total of 355/7, with half-centuries from Harry Brook (77) and Jordan Cox (76) powering a massive 104-run finish in the final ten overs.

Sri Lanka’s response faltered early and never recovered. Despite a brisk 35 from Kusal Mendis, the visitors plummeted from 36/1 to 82/6 under relentless pressure, eventually being rolled over for just 132 in 29.1 overs. Sonny Baker claimed his maiden ODI wicket as England's attack struck at regular intervals to seal the rout.

Tom Banton was named Player of the Match for his match-winning ton, while Will Jacks took home Player of the Series honors.

England 355 for 7 (Banton 126, Brook 77, Cox 76) beat Sri Lanka 132 (Mendis 35, Dawson 3-26) by 223 runs.
