The third ODI between West Indies and Australia in the 1999 series saw the home side secure a convincing five-wicket victory at Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain.

Australia, batting first, compiled 242 for seven in their 50 overs. Mark Waugh top-scored with 74 from 100 deliveries, while Adam Gilchrist made 43 and Darren Lehmann contributed 40. Michael Bevan remained unbeaten on 29, helping Australia post a competitive total.

West Indies responded with a composed run chase, reaching 244 for five in 49 overs to win by five wickets with six balls remaining. Sherwin Campbell provided an excellent foundation with 64, while Carl Hooper added an entertaining 56.

Jimmy Adams anchored the innings with an unbeaten 82, demonstrating excellent temperament and control under pressure.

Damien Fleming claimed three wickets for Australia, but the visitors were unable to prevent West Indies from completing the chase. Nehemiah Perry had earlier been instrumental with the ball, taking three Australian wickets for 45 runs.
