Taylor & Jones run down Kiwis (1991 Final)

Mark Taylor and Dean Jones bat the Kiwis out of the 2nd Final to win the Benson & Hedges Tri-Nations series 2-0.

Australia clinched the title with a commanding seven-wicket victory over New Zealand.

Batting first, New Zealand posted 208 for 6, built on solid contributions from Rutherford (37) Jones (51) and Reid (64), but struggled to accelerate against disciplined bowling from Simon O’Donnell (3 wickets) and Bruce Reid (2 wickets).

In reply, Australia’s top order dominated, with Mark Taylor (71) and Dean Jones (76) leading a composed chase before David Boon’s unbeaten 40 guided them home in 45.3 overs.

The victory underlined Australia’s superiority in the series and handed them the Benson & Hedges trophy without the need for a deciding third final.>Geoff Marsh led the Aussies as Border was injured.
