Clarke & Johnson flay Lankan bowlers: 2nd Test, Day 2 (MCG)

Skipper Michael Clarke registered his first century at the MCG to break Ricky Ponting's record for most Test runs by an Australian in a calendar year. The Sri Lankans wilted in the field with many dropped chances.

Mitch Johnson stroked 73 not out at No 8 as Australia moved into a commanding position at stumps on 440-8, a lead of 284 runs.

Australia 8 for 440 (Clarke 106, Watson 83, Johnson 73*, Warner 62, Prasad 3-102) lead Sri Lanka 156 by 284 runs.
