Hot Morris spell ensures thrilling 3 run win: 2nd T20 (Taunton)

A fiery spell from Chris Morris (2-18) late in the game inspired a tremendous South African fightback that ended in a three-run victory over England off the last ball.

England were on track for a win at 132-2 in the 16th over, when the controversial dismissal of Jason Roy (67) for obstructing the field caused them to slip behind the required run rate. Dawson needed to hit a 4 off the last ball to win the game but failed to connect with a yorker from Phehlukwayo.

Earlier, Tom Curran impressed on debut -as he finished with 3-33 from his four overs. J J Smuts (45) and A B de Villiers (46) got South Africa to 174-8.

The 3 match series is tied at 1-1.

South Africa 174 for 8 (Smuts 45, de Villiers 46, Curran 3-33) beat England 171 for 6 (Roy 67, Morris 2-18) by three runs.
