Hafeez, Hasan shine in thrilling win over NZ: 1st T20 (Abu Dhabi)

Mohammad Hafeez played an allround role and Hasan Ali took 3-35 as Pakistan secured a narrow two-run victory over New Zealand.

Adam Milne and Ajaz Patel dismissed the openers early but Pakistan recovered on the back of a 67-run stand between Mohammad Hafeez (45 in 36 balls) and Asif Ali. Imad Wasim capitalised on a dropped catch by Sodhi to hit the last two balls of the innings for four and six respectively, lifting Pakistan to a handy 148-6.

Inform opener Colin Munro (58) got the the Black Caps off to a fast start. Hasan Ali (3-35) claimed two wickets in the penultimate over to leave 17 needed off the last which proved too far for the Kiwis.

Pakistan 148 for 6 (Hafeez 45, Sarfraz 34, Milne 2-28) beat New Zealand 146 for 6 (Munro 58, Taylor 42, Hasan 3-35) by two runs.
