Hardik, Rohit shine as India down Ireland on suspect pitch: 2024 T20 World Cup (New York)

India beat Ireland by eight wickets on a difficult pitch at the newly commissioned Nassau Stadium in Long Island.

Gareth Delany (26 runs from 14 balls, 2 fours and 2 sixes) was the only standout batter for the Irish as they were bundled out for 96. Hardik Pandya took 3-27 and was supported by fellow pacemen Bumrah and Arshdeep with 2 wickets apiece.

Skipper Rohit Sharma showed his class with a fine half-century to help his side successfully chase down a manageable target of 97 to win. He retired hurt on 52 (37). Pant added a solid 36 not out.

India 97 for 2 (Rohit 52, Pant 36*) beat Ireland 96 (Delany 26, Hardik 3-27, Bumrah 2-6, Arshdeep 2-35) by eight wickets.
