Ayub century inspires thrilling win over South Africa: 1st ODI (Paarl)

Opener Saim Ayub smashed a superb century that propelled Pakistan to a nail-biting three-wicket victory against South Africa in the 1st ODI at Boland Park.

Ayub (109) and Salman (82 not out) shared a fifth wicket partnership of 141, rescuing Pakistan from 60 for four.

Earlier, Heinrich Klaasen made 86 off 97 balls in South Africa’s total of 239 for nine. Off-spinner Agha Salman wrecked the South African top-order with four quick wickets.

Pakistan 242 for 7 (Ayub 109, Agha 82*, Baartman 2-37) beat South Africa 239 for 9 (Klaasen 86, Agha 4-32, Abrar 2-32) by 3 wickets.
