Bangladesh survive Rovman blitz in narrow win: 1st T20 (St Vincent)

Bangladesh won the 1st T20 by seven runs against the West Indies after Rovman Powell nearly pulled off a surprise in St. Vincent.

Chasing a modest 148-run total, the Caribbean side faced problems as Mahedi (4-13) made early inroads through their batting lineup. Powell led from the front with a fighting 60 off 35 balls which went in vain, after the hosts were tottering at 61 for 7 at one stage.

Earlier, Soumya Sarkar played a blistering knock of 43(32), while Jaker Ali (27), Mahedi (26*) and Shamim Hossain (27) made invaluable contribution as the tourists posted 147-6.

Bangladesh 147 for 6 (Soumya 43, Hosein 2-13, McCoy 2-30) beat West Indies 140 (Powell 60, Mahedi 4-13) by seven runs.
