Young Shubman Gill leads new look Indian team to England

India has officially ushered in a new era for the Test side with 25 year old Shubman Gill named captain, replacing the retired Rohit Sharma.

Rohit Sharma (38) and Virat Kohli (36) have retired from Tests, in recent weeks.

Jasprit Bumrah was vice-captain to Sharma and captained during the series in Australia but has missed out on the leadership role. Rishabh Pant was named as Gill’s deputy.

There were call-ups for newcomers Sai Sudharsan and Arshdeep. Karun Nair Shardul Thakkur were recalled to the Test team.
