Debutant Foulkes routs Zimbabwe for innings win: 2nd Test, Day 3 (Bulawayo)

Newcomer Zachary Foulkes was the star as New Zealand wrapped up the second Test against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo inside three days, sealing a record-breaking victory by an innings and 359 runs to complete a 2–0 series sweep.

Resuming with a lead of 476 after declaring on a commanding 601/3, built on centuries from Devon Conway, Henry Nicholls, and Rachin Ravindra, the visitors’ bowlers made short work of Zimbabwe’s second innings.

Matt Henry struck early before debutant Foulkes tore through the middle and lower order with a devastating 5 for 37, as Zimbabwe crumbled to 117 all out in just 28.1 overs.

The result marked New Zealand’s largest Test win by runs and Zimbabwe’s heaviest-ever defeat, underlining a gulf in class throughout the series.

New Zealand 601 for 3 decl (Ravindra 165*, Conway 153, Nicholls 150*) beat Zimbabwe 125 (Taylor 44, Henry 5-40, Foulkes 4-38) and 117 (Welch 47*, Foulkes 5-37) by an innings and 359 runs.
