Hasan Nawaz leads Pakistan win over Windies: 1st ODI (Tarouba)

Hasan Nawaz struck 63 not out on debut as Pakistan defeated West Indies by five wickets in the first ODI at Tarouba to take a 1–0 lead in the series.

Batting first, the hosts were bowled out for 280, with Evin Lewis (60) and Shai Hope (55) leading the scoring, while Shaheen Afridi (4/51) and Naseem Shah (3/55) starred with the ball.

In reply, Pakistan reached 284/5 in 48.5 overs, thanks to a match-winning unbeaten 63 off 54 balls from debutant Hasan Nawaz, who struck five fours and three sixes. He shared an unbroken 104-run partnership with Hussain Talat (41* off 37) to guide the visitors home, earning Player of the Match honours for his composed debut innings.

Pakistan 284 for 5 (Nawaz 63*, Rizwan 53, Talat 41*, Joseph 2-65) beat West Indies 280 (Lewis 60, Hope 55, Chase 53, Afridi 4-51, Naseem 3-55) by five wickets.
