Jansen’s six-for blows India away for 201: 2nd Test, Day 3 (Guwahati)

South Africa tightened their grip on the second Test in Guwahati as left arm quick Marco Jansen’s superb 6-for dismantled India for 201 in reply to the visitors’ imposing 489.

India briefly resisted through Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 58, but regular wickets and disciplined South African bowling ensured the hosts never built momentum.

With a commanding 288-run lead, South Africa chose to bat again rather than enforce the follow-on, reaching 26 for 0 by stumps to extend their advantage to 314 and leave India needing a miracle to stay in the contest.

South Africa 489 and 26 for 0 (Rickelton 13*, Markram 12*) lead India 201 (Jaiswal 58, Washington 48, Jansen 6-48, Harmer 3-64) by 314 runs.
