Jason Holder struck 3 late sixers in a dramatic chase as West Indies clinched the T20I series 2-1 with a dramatic five-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in the deciding third match at Sabina Park.
Batting first, Sri Lanka posted 169 all out in 20 overs after recovering from early setbacks through useful contributions from the middle order with Dunith Wellalage smashing 43.
However, fast bowler Shamar Joseph produced a match-winning spell, claiming 5/31 to restrict the visitors and ensure they fell short of a more imposing total.
Chasing 170, West Indies were tested throughout the innings but held their nerve in a tense finish. Sherfane Rutherford led the chase with a composed 54, while Rovman Powell added 33 to keep the hosts on course.
With the equation still demanding in the final over, Jason Holder delivered a stunning cameo, smashing an unbeaten 21 from just five balls, including three sixes, as West Indies reached the target with two balls remaining to secure both the match and the series.
West Indies 170 for 5 (Rutherford 54*, Powell 33, Hetmyer 32, Hasaranga 2-17) beat Sri Lanka 169 (Wellalage 43, Joseph 5-33) by five wickets.
