England rout SL after Brook blitz: 1st T20 (Southampton)

Harry Brook blasted a spectacular century as England made a good start to the three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka, winning the first match in Southampton by 119 runs.

England piled up 254/4, with Harry Brook producing a breathtaking 114 not out from 49 balls and Jos Buttler smashing 80 from 44. Their 128-run partnership set the platform for one of England’s highest T20I totals.

Sri Lanka never looked capable of chasing the massive target and were bowled out for 135 in 19 overs.

Dunith Wellalage provided some resistance, but England’s attack remained in control, with Sonny Baker taking 3/12. Brook’s extraordinary innings earned him Player of the Match honours, while England took a 1–0 series lead.

England 254 for 4 (Brook 114*, Buttler 80) beat Sri Lanka 135 (Wellalage 33, Baker 3-12) by 119 runs.
