Buttler shines as England regain No 1 spot after thrashing SL: 3rd T20 (Manchester)

England completed a 3–0 series whitewash over Sri Lanka, securing a dominant eight-wicket victory in the final match at Old Trafford, Manchester.

Sri Lanka’s batting line-up crumbled under relentless pressure, bowled out for just 124 in 18.5 overs.

Sonny Baker, Jofra Archer, and Will Jacks spearheaded the attack with two wickets apiece, while two costly run-outs and rash shot selection further doomed the visitors' innings.

The chase was ruthlessly quick. England reached 125/2 in just 9.4 overs, crossing the line with 62 balls to spare. Jos Buttler led the charge with a blistering, unbeaten 62 off 32 balls, supported by Harry Brook’s swift 33.

The result marks England’s 15th consecutive T20I victory over Sri Lanka and propels them back to the top of the ICC T20I rankings. Harry Brook was named Player of the Series.

England 126 for 2 (Buttler 62*) beat Sri Lanka 124 (Nissanka 36, Baker 2-17, Archer 2-23, Jacks 2-31) by eight wickets.
