Atal, Rashid dominate as Afghanistan rout Zimbabwe: UAE Tri Nations AFG v ZIM (Abu Dhabi)

Sediqullah Atal posted a superb century as Afghanistan recorded a commanding 158-run victory over Zimbabwe in the second ODI of the UAE Tri-Nation Series after posting 294.

Sediqullah Atal starred with a superb 102, while Ibrahim Zadran contributed 90 to anchor Afghanistan’s innings. Zimbabwe’s bowling efforts were led by Masuku and Brad Evans, who claimed three wickets apiece for 44 and 47 runs respectively, but Afghanistan’s strong batting display secured a challenging total.

Zimbabwe struggled in reply and were dismissed for 136, falling well short of their target despite Sikandar Raza’s 48. Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan spearheaded the bowling attack with an outstanding four for 17, while Fazalhaq Farooqi claimed two for 15.

Atal’s century earned him recognition for a decisive contribution as Afghanistan bounced back emphatically, leaving Zimbabwe with work to do following their opening-match victory over Bangladesh.

Afghanistan 294 (Atal 102, Zadran 90, Masuku 3-44, Evans 3-47) beat Zimbabwe 136 (Raza 48, Rashid 4-17, Farooqi 2-15) by 158 runs.
