Leftarm paceman Mitchell Johnson put Australia on top as he took took 7-42 his best figures in Tests. His devastating burst ripped through South Africa's batting lineup as the tourists had a sensational collapse in the last hour when they went from a strong 234-3 to 243-8 at stumps.
