1957 2nd Test: Cowdrey and Evans deliver win (Newlands)

England beat South Africa by 312 runs.

Perhaps the brightest highlight of England's first innings was the sparkling 62 hit by Godfrey Evans.

Evans attacked the South African bowling and during his stay at the crease, he doubled the rate of scoring. England left South Africa 285 to win. Later when Laker dealt with Adcock, they were all out for 72.

Two up - congratulations to Peter May, the winning skipper.
