Warner ton counters record Azhar double: 2nd Test, Day 3 (MCG)

David Warner (144) scored his first Test century at the MCG and Usman Khawaja (95 not out) also cashed in to get Australia to 278-2.

Earlier, Azhar Ali's sensational unbeaten 205 helped Pakistan to 443-9 before the declaration. Azhar's 205 is the first double century by a Pakistani in Australia. He and Sohail Khan (65) posted a record seventh-wicket stand of 121 for Pakistan against Australia.

Australia 2 for 278 (Warner 144, Khawaja 95*) trail Pakistan 9 for 443 dec (Azhar 205*, Sohail 65, Shafiq 50, Hazlewood 3-50, Bird 3-113) by 165 runs.
